A special meeting of senior officials from six member states of the Coral Triangle, commonly known as the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF), concluded on Friday, 28th May 2021.

The extraordinary annual meeting was held virtually due to travel restrictions imposed by member countries as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A statement from the National Coordinating Committee said the meeting was rescheduled for this year after it could not be hosted in November last year during the height of COVID-19.

Representatives of the Host Country Agreement and the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat held a coordination meeting on 29 April 2021. The Host Country representatives were led by Mr. Agung Prasetyo, Head of Public Relations and International Cooperation of the Indonesia Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF). Mr. Antoine Nouvet (left), First Secretary of Political Affairs for Indonesia, Malaysia, and Timor-Leste at the Canadian Embassy in Jakarta, paid a courtesy visit to the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat Executive Director, Dr. Mohd Kushairi Mohd Rajuddin, on 29 April 2021.

Mr. Nouvet expressed interest in learning more about the CTI-CFF and the Regional Secretariat. Dr. Kushairi provided detailed information, including current and future initiatives of the CTI-CFF.

CTI-CFF commits support and cooperation to restore the world’s ecosystems

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF), through its Regional Secretariat, joins all member nations in celebrating Earth Day with this year’s theme: “Restore Our Earth.”
