Manila, Philippines, 4 April 2019 – The CTI-CFF reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of the Western Pacific (WESTPAC) toward the realization of the UN Decade of Ocean Science (2021–2030) during the 12th Intergovernmental Session of the IOC Sub-commission for WESTPAC, held in Manila, Philippines from 2–5 April 2019.

Mr. Peter Simojoki, Second Secretary from the Australian Embassy in Indonesia, visited the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat on 9 April 2019 and met with Interim Executive Director Dr. Hendra Yusran Siry and his team to explore potential areas where the Australian Government could provide support to CTI-CFF.

The Australian Government is one of the development partners of CTI-CFF and funded the Review of the CTI-CFF Regional Plan of Action conducted in 2018.

CTI-CFF, through its Regional Secretariat, participated in the Women Maritime Asia Regional Conference with the theme "Empowering Women in Maritime: Bridging the Gap", held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 9–11 April 2019. The conference was supported by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Dr. Sharifah Nora Ibrahim, Deputy Executive Director for Program Services of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat, was invited to speak at the conference.

The CTI-CFF, through its Regional Secretariat, participated in the 51st Meeting of the SEAFDEC Council in Surabaya, Indonesia, from 18–22 March 2019. The CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat was represented by Interim Executive Director Dr. Hendra Yusran Siry; Deputy Executive Director for Program Services Dr. Sharifah Nora Ibrahim; and Program Support Officer Mr. Ayodya Satryo Anggorojati.
